Change of programme: ICO General Counsel, Emma Bate, to speak at Conference5RB

Emma Bate, General Legal Counsel heads up the legal profession at the ICO.  She joined from DAC Beachcroft LLP, where she worked as a partner specialising in data protection and commercial law. Over the last 20 years, Emma has worked with a wide range of clients from across the public, private and third sectors.  Earlier in her career she focussed on advising the public sector, particularly NHS clients, on data protection law.  In recent years her focus shifted to insurance and financial services.  Emma has been listed in the legal directories for her data protection knowledge, with clients quoted as saying she is “a pleasure to work with”.

Due to work commitments that require her to travel abroad, the Information Commissioner Elizabeth Denham will no longer be able to attend Conference5RB.

Dania Rifaat is a Specialty Claims Manager at Hiscox. Dania is a qualified solicitor and was formerly a specialist media lawyer at a leading law firm. At Hiscox, Dania handles a wide range of claims for media and entertainment clients.

Co-chaired by our Heads of Chambers, Desmond Browne QC and Justin Rushbrooke QC, the entire chambers of 5RB are involved in the conference either as speakers or in the preparation for what promises to be an enlightening and stimulating day.

Conference5RB could not offer the same value without the support of specialist international insurer Hiscox. As a FTSE250 company, with offices across 11 countries, Hiscox offer a range of expert insurance products for businesses and private clients.
