5th London Legal Sponsored Walk

Members of 5RB and friends raise over £5,000 for legal charities

A team of members of 5RB and our friends took part in the 5th London Legal Sponsored Walk on 18 May 2009, raising over £5,000 for the cause of providing free legal advice services for the disadvantaged.
 
The 5RB team, consisting of Jonathan Barnes, Sara Mansoori, Matthew Nicklin, Yuli Takatsuki, Richard Munden, Victoria Jolliffe, Karen Rock Monnick, David Hirst and Adam Speker were joined by Hanna Basha, Athalie Mathews, Lucy Middleton and Nigel Tait from Carter-Ruck, Kate MacMillan and Annsley Ward from Gallant MacMillan, Nadia Rahman, Amber Melville-Brown and Jennifer McDermott from Withers, Jenny Afia from Schillings and Ian Chilvers from Atelier Works (5RB‘s design consultant).
 
Although not branded for the occasion in 5RB‘s go-faster black livery, Joint Head of Chambers Desmond Browne QC, led off the 5th London Legal Sponsored Walk in his capacity as Chairman of the Bar Council along with the Lord Chief Justice, The Master of the Rolls, the Attorney General, Lady Toulson the High Sherriff of Surrey, Paul Marsh the President of the Law Society and Mark Bishop the President of ILEX. 
 
At the post-walk refreshments at the Law Society, Lord Judge, the Lord Chief Justice thanked a number of teams for the sterling fundraising efforts, including the 5RB team, which raised more than any other chambers.
 
The total raised by all walkers on 18 May was over £380,000.
 
The 5RB team would like to thank those friends who joined us for the walk and all of our clients, friends and colleagues who generously sponsored the team.
 
The next London Legal Sponsored walk takes place on 17 May 2010.
