Royal Controversy

5RB Instructed

A number of members of chambers have been involved in the recent controversy arising from the Mail On Sunday’s attempt to publish allegations of an incident in the Royal household. Desmond Browne QC and Jonathan Barnes (instructed by Kingsley Napley) acted for the Royal servant who obtained an urgent injunction against the Mail On Sunday. Since the injunction was granted Mark Warby QC (instructed by Reynolds Porter Chamberlain) has been acting for the Mail on Sunday. Adrienne Page QC and David Sherborne represented Guardian Newspapers Limited in their challenge to a further injunction, now discharged, against the naming by The Guardian of the Claimant in the Mail on Sunday action.
