Royal Television Society Discussion Evening

When Not To Show It: An investigation into the ethics of filmmaking

The Royal Television Society is holding a discussion evening on the ethical issues involved in film-making on 21 June 2005.

Speakers include Steve Anderson (Mentorn), Roger Graef (Films of Record), Mira King (Special Edition Films), Mark Soldinger (Firecracker Films) and Jan Tomalin (Channel 4’s Head of Legal and Compliance). The evening will be chaired by Sheena McDonald.

This session will examine the ethical and potential legal issues involved in the decision to transmit: for example whether an interview involves a breach the trust; whether it it fair to show people in a state of emotional distress; and what degree of wrongdoing justifies covert filming.

The event will be held at Cavendish Conference Centre, 22 Duchess Mews, London W1 from 6.45pm to 8.15pm. For further and the booking form, click on the icon below.
