5RB top in Legal 500 Review
15 barristers named as leaders in their field
The annual Legal 500 review of the legal profession has named 5RB as a leading set both in Defamation and Media & Entertainment Law.
The independent survey praised the set for its "extensive expertise" and said 5RB continued to "command a worthy name for defamation, privacy and contempt". 5RB came equal top in Defamation whilst in Media & Entertainment Law it ranked alongside 8 New Square and came second only to Blackstone Chambers. The annual review also named fifteen 5RB barristers (including all six QCs) as leaders in the field of Defamation and/or Media & Entertainment Law: more than any other Chambers in these fields.
James Price QC was said to be "at the pinnacle of his profession".
Desmond Browne QC: "... renowned as a 'good team operator', and, described as a 'street-fighter', he is respected for his 'tough and determined' approach in court."
Adrienne Page QC was praised by clients for "working 'like a Trojan' yet 'always being available and approachable'".
Mark Warby QC was marked out as a silk whose reputation "continues to rocket".
Patrick Milmo QC and Richard Parkes QC were also recognised as leading QCs in the field.
Stephen Bate, named as one of the pre-eminent Media & Entertainment barristers was praised for "consistently attracting positive remarks from solicitors". He was also noted for his expertise in Sports Law.
David Sherborne was said to be "carving out a particularly impressive name for himself"
Matthew Nicklin was described as "absolutely outstanding", "feisty" and "a real scrapper".
Jonathan Barnes was said to be "gaining a favourable reputation".
Other juniors to be recognised as leaders in their field were Alexandra Marzec, Justin Rushbrooke, Godwin Busuttil, Adam Wolanski and William Bennett.
