Professional Negligence

Unfortunately litigation can on occasions go wrong or solicitors and barristers can be accused by their clients of giving negligent advice. Some members of 5RB have extensive experience of acting in professional negligence cases arising out of defamation and malicious falsehood claims where a dispute has arisen between the client and solicitor. A specialist knowledge of how a defamation claim might proceed, the amount of damages that might be awarded or the requirements needed to prove, for instance, malice or justification, are essential in determining whether a legal advisor has breached his or her duty of care in such cases.
