Sapna Jethani leaves media set to take up post in Dubai

5RB announced today that Sapna Jethani will be leaving the media set to take up a new position with Clyde & Co solicitors in Dubai.

Sapna joined 5RB in October 2000 after completion of her pupillage. She will be taking up her post as an assistant in Clyde & Co’s dispute resolution department on 23 April 2006. There she will be dealing with litigation (both locally and in the English High Court) and international commercial arbitration. Her last day in 5RB will be 23 March 2006.

Speaking before her departure, Sapna said:

“I’m very much looking forward to the challenges of working abroad in a rapidly evolving legal environment (and in a sunny climate), but am sad to be leaving Chambers!”

Joint Head of 5RB, Adrienne Page QC, on behalf of all members of 5RB said:

“Sapna has contributed enormously to the life of chambers. Her legal ability and warmth of personality will be greatly missed. The opportunity that has opened up for her in Dubai is an exciting one and she has our very best wishes for the future.”

Called to the bar in 1999 by Lincoln’s Inn, Sapna spent 3 months at the European Court of Human Rights before commencing practice. Later, she was awarded a Pegasus scholarship by the Inns of Court in 2003 which enabled her to spend 3 months in the litigation department of Allen & Overy, New York. Sapna was recommended as an ‘up and coming’ junior in Chambers & Partners 2006 and received praise for ‘wonderful work and a creative mind’.
