5RB silks at 2013 Oxford International Media Moot

Browne, Page and Warby are Price Court judges

For the second year, 3 QCs from 5RB were among the judges at Oxford University’s Price International Media Law Moot Court.

Joint Heads of Chambers Desmond Browne QC and Mark Warby QC were joined by former joint head Adrienne Page QC to judge rounds of the finals on Friday 12 April 2013.

Mark Warby and Adrienne Page were selected to judge the semi-final between teams from New Delhi and Singapore,  sitting with Prof Oreste Policcino of Milan’s Universita Commerciale Luigi Bocconi. Desmond Browne was chosen as one of the 6 to judge the final.

Justice Andras Sajo, a Hungarian Judge of the European Court of Human Rights, presided over the final, in which the winners were the team from the National Law University, New Delhi.

The Price moots began in 2008 as a single Moot Court Competition held at Oxford University to foster an interest in media law, communication technologies and freedom of expression issues.

Since then, the Programme has increased in size and geographical diversity, and is now hosting rounds in different regions around the world.
