CMC Board appoint 5RB mediator
5RB’s Iain Christie has been appointed as the new Secretary of the Civil Mediation Council.
The Civil Mediation Council is the recognised authority in the country for all matters related to civil, commercial, workplace and other non-family mediation.
Speaking after his appointment yesterday, Iain said “I am delighted to have this opportunity to support the Chairman, Chief Executive and rest of the Board of the CMC in its work to further the interests of mediators in the UK and encourage the greater use of mediation as a method of dispute resolution wherever there is conflict.”
Sir Alan Ward, Chair of the CMC, welcoming Iain to his new position said “I’m very pleased that Iain has accepted this role and I’m sure that his years of experience as a mediator and supporter of mediation will benefit the Council as it takes forward its important work in the coming years.’
In addition to his practice at the bar, Iain is an accredited civil, commercial, workplace and family mediator. He is on the Bar Council’s top tier of barrister mediators having successfully conducted over 100 mediations. He has trained in Conflict Resolution, Group Facilitation and Counselling Skills and is a Member of the Chartered Institute of Arbitrators.
