Statements in Open Court in Mobile Telephone Interception Litigation

A number of statements in open court were read out in the High Court today in relation to claims in Various Claimants v News Group Newspapers.

The defendant company is the publisher of The News of the World and is the publisher of The Sun. Claimants in the Mobile Telephone Interception Litigation are bringing claims for phone hacking and other unlawful information gathering against the newspapers. 190 of the claims have settled in the latest period, which started on 8 September 2021.

Statements were read out including on behalf of claimants Keith Allen, Mel C, Twig Clark, Davinia Douglass, Catherine Tate, Jason Griffiths, Catalina Guirado, Matthew Horne, Rafferty Law, Shane Lynch and Chris Moyles.

Mr Justice Fancourt also dealt with a number of case management matters relating to the litigation.
