Second Hearing of Gibraltar public inquiry

The Second Preliminary Hearing in the Inquiry into the Retirement of the Former Commissioner of Police will take place in Gibraltar on Tuesday 20 September 2022.  The Inquiry, chaired by former High Court judge Sir Charles Peter Lawford Openshaw, will inquire into the reasons and circumstances leading to Mr Ian McGrail ceasing to be Commissioner of Police in June 2020.

The Second Preliminary Hearing will seek to finalise the list of issues for the Inquiry, which will guide the scope and subject matter of its inquiries moving forward. The main hearing of the Inquiry will take place in March 2023.
