5RB barristers advise the McGrail Inquiry in Gibraltar

The fourth preliminary hearing in the Inquiry into the Retirement of the Former Commissioner of Police will take place in Gibraltar today. The Inquiry, chaired by former High Court judge Sir Charles Peter Lawford Openshaw, will investigate the reasons and circumstances leading to Mr Ian McGrail ceasing to be Commissioner of Police in June 2020.

Today’s hearing will seek to finalise the Inquiry’s list of issues, and also consider an application by the Gibraltar Broadcasting Corporation to livestream the proceedings. The Inquiry will sit for four weeks in September/October this year.

5RB’s Julian Santos is Counsel to the Inquiry, assisted by Hope Williams as Junior Counsel to the Inquiry.
