5RB.com 1000th case report

Online case report library tops a thousand

5RB celebrates uploading the 1000th case report to its website case library.

With the activation of our report of the Court of Appeal abuse of process decision in Cammish v Hughes before Christmas, the 5RB case report archive has reached the milestone of 1000 cases.

The first case report when 5RB launched its website in July 2004 was another decision of the Court of Appeal in a defamation case, Milne v Express Newspapers, a decision on malice in the offer of amends context. On average, there have been 125 case reports per year, covering the major domestic decisions in media law, as well as important foreign judgments in common law jurisdictions and significant rulings of the European Court of Human Rights on Articles 8 and 10.

5RB would like to take the opportunity to thank all of those who have brought worthy or overlooked cases to our attention over the past eight years, and to extend the invitation to continue doing so. Our aim in maintaining the 5RB case report library is to develop a resource of the leading decisions in media, entertainment and sports law, which is used as a resource internally and offered as a resource to clients and anyone online with an interest in UK media law. The library is not intended to be exhaustive, but please let us know on clerks@5rb.com of any unreported case which would enhance the library through its inclusion.
