Richard Parkes QC and Sapna Jethani gave a seminar on recent developments in the law of contempt of court at the offices of Charles Russell on 5th July.
Their talk ranged widely over issues such as orders postponing publication of reports of trials, reporting family proceedings, the problems for the press raised by anti-social behaviour orders, restrictions on reporting introduced by the Criminal Justice Act 2003, and the potential for costs orders against the media via s.93 Courts Act 2003.
