5RB was delighted to welcome two students from the Bar Placement Scheme in Chambers in July. The students spent 4 days in Chambers, experiencing court visits, talks, work in Chambers and discussions about life at the Bar with a variety of members of Chambers. The students then spent a further day of advocacy training from the Inns of Court College of Advocacy.
5RB has supported the Bar Council’s Bar Placement Week for many years. Felicity McMahon and Gervase de Wilde have been the primary hosts for our Bar Placement students since 2014. The Bar Placement Week is a social mobility scheme open to sixth-formers at state schools and first-year undergraduates who formerly attended state schools, who meet two out of three of the social mobility criteria: (1) currently or previously attended a state school, (2) first in the family to attend university, (3) eligible for free school meals.
We wish our students the best of luck in their future studies.
