Heinz wins ‘swastika pasta’ apology

Loaded magazine has apologised to food manufacturer Heinz for a defamatory allegation the magazine published about one of its pasta products during the Second World War.

Loaded‘s May edition included an allegation that between 1937 and 1945, Heinz had produced a version of Alphabetti Spaghetti especially for the German market that consisted solely of tiny pasta shaped as swastikas. This was published under the heading ‘Pointless but True’.

The magazine has now accepted that the allegation is untrue and published an unreserved apology.
