The High Court trial of actor Johnny Depp’s libel claim against the publishers of The Sun, News Group Newspapers, and the newspaper’s Executive Editor, Dan Wootton, starts today.
The trial is being held before Nicol J, and is scheduled to last three weeks.
Mr Depp is suing over a 28 April 2018 print article in The Sun headlined “How can JK Rowling be ‘genuinely happy’ to cast Depp after assault claim”, and over a related online article.
