Media Law: Comparative Perspectives 2026

5RB‘s Godwin Busuttil and Hope Williams are participating this week in the Media Law: Comparative Perspective 2026, an intensive University of Sydney Law School seminar held at Trinity Hall, Cambridge, from 5th to 10th July.

This programme brings students together to examine the similarities and differences between Australian, UK and European media law, covering key topics including:

  • Defamation
  • Privacy and breach of confidence
  • Contempt of court
  • Open justice
  • Suppression and non-publication orders

Other than Godwin and Hope, the programme features expert contributions from former members of 5RB, Sir Mark Warby and Desmond Browne CBE KC, as well as Professor David Rolph of the University of Sydney Law School and other leading British and American academics and practitioners, offering a unique international perspective on some of the most important issues shaping modern media law.
