5RB’s Felicity McMahon acted as one of the judges for the finals of this year’s National First Year Law Mooting Competition on 18 July 2026. Organised by the University of Kent and Swansea University Law School, with the final hosted by Francis Taylor Buildings, the mooting competition is open only to first-year law students. Now in its third year, it gives first-years an opportunity to develop their mooting skills, with online preliminary rounds, followed by in-person quarter-finals to finals. Felicity sat on a panel of judges for a semi-final and the final. Congratulations to this year’s winners, the team from Cardiff University, and runners-up, the team from the University of Kent!
