William Bennett has been named by The Lawyer as its “Barrister of the Week”. The magazine published an article about his work which featured his recent involvement in the Duke of Sussex’s libel claim against the Mail on Sunday and the Mail Online and his views on the value of non-monetary forms of vindication in defamation claims, particularly via the use of unilateral statements in open court. The article also referenced some of his recent high profile cases and looked forward to his forthcoming appearance in March in the Court of Appeal on behalf of Richard Millett against the Rt Hon. Jeremy Corbyn MP concerning the honest opinion defence and a trial listed for May when he will be acting for Countdown presenter Rachel Riley in a Twitter libel case.
