Conference: Reputation, Privacy and the Future of Media Law

The Press Justice Project has organized a conference on Reputation, Privacy, and the Future of Media Law to be held from 3 to 6 pm on Thursday, October 17, 2024, at the London office of Brown Rudnick.

It will feature the following three sessions to be followed by networking drinks at 6pm courtesy of Brown Rudnick:

  • Libelled by Alexa: the legal risks of AI
  • Developments in media law
  • True story: legal implications for dramatic retellings of real events

Rachael Somerset of Level Law, Tim Walker the playwright and 5RB’s William Bennett KC will consider the legal issues arising out of the current trend to broadcast dramas proclaimed to be “true stories”, with particular reference to the issues arising out of the broadcast of Baby Reindeer.

Charlotte Harris of Brown Rudnick and Hugh Tomlinson KC will outline developments in media law.

Tamsin Allen of Bindmans, Lexie Kirkconnell-Kawana of Impress, and Sara Mansoori KC will deal with the legal risks arising from the use of AI.
