Mosley refused ‘orgy’ injunction

Mr Justice Eady has today ruled that News Group Newspapers, publishers of the News of the World, can show edited footage of FIA chief Max Mosley engaging in sexual activities with five prostitutes.

Mr Mosley, who has denied that the filmed activities are in any way connected to the Nazi regime, applied to the High Court on Friday for an injunction to prevent the newspaper group from showing the film on the News of the World website until the trial of his privacy claim.

Mr Justice Eady accepted that the footage was “intrusive and demeaning” and that there was no legitimate public interest in its further publication, but felt obliged to decline the application as the material has already become so widely available that preventing New Group from showing it “would merely be a futile gesture”.
