Northcott v Hundeyin

Documentary maker Charlie Northcott has been awarded damages of £95,000 for libel in his claim against David Hundeyin, a journalist. David Hundeyin published the libel via Substack and Twitter (now X) in 2022, accusing Mr Northcott of workplace misconduct. Despite saying he would defend any claim, David Hundeyin did not, and Mr Northcott was granted judgment in default in June. In his judgment of 25 October 2024, Julian Knowles J also granted Mr Northcott remedies under sections 12 and 13 of the Defamation Act 2013.

Kate Wilson, instructed by Patron Law, represented the Claimant.
