Phone hacking trial to begin

The trial of several claims for phone hacking and related unlawful information gathering against MGN Ltd, the publisher of the Daily Mirror, Sunday Mirror and People newspapers, is set to begin tomorrow at the Rolls Building.

Four “representative” cases selected in March form part of the trial, these being the claims brought by the Duke of Sussex, Nikki Sanderson, Fiona Wightman and Michael Turner.

The trial, before Mr Justice Fancourt, is expected to last for up to seven weeks.
