Tulisa obtains injunction

Tulisa Contostavlos, formerly of N-Dbuz, has been granted an injunction until trial to restrain the publication of video footage on the internet showing her engaged in a sexal act with a former boyfriend.

The footage first appeared online over the weekend of 17/18 March 2012. On 19 March the Court granted an emergency interim injunction against further publication, which was varied and extended on 20 March. On 26 March Tugendhat J continued the order until trial.

In a video posted on youtube the Claimant had spoken of her distress at such intimate footage being made available for the world to see, and the sense of betrayal she felt. The former boyfriend who featured in the footage, Justin Edwards, otherwise known as MC Ultra, denied responsibility for the tape appearing on the internet and said he was disgusted that it had been made public.

The judgment of Tugendhat J made clear that reports in the press that the Claimant had told the Court that it was not her in the footage were untrue.
