An application by politicians Sir Vince Cable and Lord Tom Watson for disclosure from the publisher of The Sun and the News of the World will be heard today by Mr Justice Fancourt. The disclosure sought from NGN is for documents Sir Vince and Lord Watson contend will be relevant to their claims of unlawful information gathering and the extent of such alleged activities against them and other politicians and associates when they were in government.
The claims are proceeding as part of the Mobile Telephone Interception Litigation, which is listed for trial in January 2025.
