The Copyright and Related Rights Regulations 2003 SI 2003/2498 came into force in October 2003. The Regulations bolster the protection of copyright in a digital / information society, and introduce several new and important changes to areas such as the definition of a “broadcast” and the protection given to the supply and transmission of works over the internet.
The 5RB Intellectual Property Group has been exploring th impact of the Regulations at a series of seminars at firms such as Bird & Bird, Sheridans and Lee & Thompson and in-house at Turner/CNN, BSkyB and HarperCollins. Members of the IP Group (Gordon Bishop, Stephen Bate, Andrew Monson, Justin Rushbrooke, Christina Michalos and Jacob Dean) are happy to consider joining with other interested firms or in-house departments to hold seminars on this or other topics of interest.
