She has acted in many high-profile and significant cases in this area, including representing the Financial Times in its defence of a £79m libel claim brought by financier Crispin Odey; successfully defending the former King of Spain, His Majesty Juan Carlos de Borbon y Borbon, in a harassment claim for £126m damages; and acting for the Sun newspaper in its successful defence of Johnny Depp’s libel action. Clara represented Bloomberg in the landmark Supreme Court case concerning the privacy rights of individuals under criminal investigation, ZXC v Bloomberg LP, and acted for Bloomberg (unled) in the Court of Appeal in the Court of Protection reporting restrictions case of Hinduja v Hinduja.
