On 17 June 2025, a Statement in Open Court was read before Mr Justice Fancourt in the High Court, marking the successful settlement of Ciara Parkes’ privacy claim against News Group Newspapers (NGN), the publishers of The Sun.
The claim related to allegations of unlawful information gathering at The Sun, including voicemail interception and the use of private investigators to obtain private information unlawfully.
Ben Hamer of 5RB read the statement on behalf of Ms Parkes. She was also represented earlier in the proceedings by David Sherborne and Julian Santos of 5RB.
The claim was managed by Thomson Heath Jenkins & Associates (Mark Thomson, Emily Jenkins, Chloe Vincent, Isabella Ritchie and Olivia Biggin).
