The publisher of MailOnline, the former editor of The Sun Kelvin MacKenzie, and the director of a litigation investment company Gwilym Jones have paid Gabby and Kenny Logan substantial damages for libel.
The publications complained of included the false allegations that Gabby and Kenny Logan were paid commissions of over £500,000 for introducing friends to tax avoidance schemes and that commission was disguised as loans for tax purposes. In fact, Gabby Logan played no part in the business and earned no income from it; Kenny Logan’s role was solely to introduce clients to companies that did not include tax avoidance schemes; nor was any income ‘disguised’.
Statements in Open Court for each claim were read before Mr Justice Linden today, bringing an end to the claims. The statements are available here:
