Katya Pereira joined 5RB in October 2024, upon completion of her pupillage.

Before joining 5RB, Katya worked for a leading auction house and a major art gallery, having graduated with First-Class Honours in History of Art from the University of Edinburgh and having attained her MA in History of Art from the Courtauld Institute of Art.
She went on to study for the Graduate Diploma in Law at City University, in which she attained a Distinction, and subsequently completed the Bar Course at the Inns of Court College of Advocacy, having been awarded the Lord Denning Scholarship from the Honourable Society of Lincoln’s Inn.
Katya is regularly instructed in claims for defamation and malicious falsehood. She also regularly advises and represents individuals and organisations at the pre-action stage, arising from publications on social media, blogs and podcasts.
Acting for the Defendants in a claim for defamation, malicious falsehood, unlawful interference with economic interests and procuring a breach of contract.
