Telegraph apologises to Zia Chishti

In a Statement in Open Court read before Collins Rice J on 17 March 2025, Telegraph Media Group Limited apologised to the technology entrepreneur Zia Chishti over publications which had accused him of sexual misconduct. The apology is also published in hard copy and online. The Statement recorded that the Telegraph had withdrawn its earlier position that the allegations were true or that they were made in the public interest and that the Telegraph had agreed to pay Mr Chishti a substantial sum by way of damages and contribution to his legal costs.
