5RB is delighted to announce that Jacob Dean has been appointed King’s Counsel. The formal ceremony will take place on 24th March 2025.
Jacob was called to the bar in 1995 and has practiced at 5RB since he became a tenant in 1996. Recommended as a Band 1 leading junior by both Chambers & Partners and the Legal 500, his recent cases include Mueen-Uddin v Home Secretary [2024] UKSC 21 (libel; GDPR; Jameel and Hunter abuse), WFZ v BBC [2024] EWHC 376 (privacy; contempt; collateral use of witness statements), Taylor v Evans v Murphy [2023] EWHC 935 (conspiracy to injure; breach of confidence; GDPR, unincorporated associations) and Fearn v Tate [2022] UKSC 4 (privacy; private nuisance).
